Scott brings a wealth of experience and knowledge from working throughout rural Nevada in academic, service, non-profit, and professional consulting capacities.

Dr. Scott Gavorsky is a historian of France by training, and a resident of rural Nevada by choice. While a professor at Great Basin College, he worked with northern Nevada rural and tribal communities on a range of academic, cultural, and digital humanities projects. After leaving academia, Scott served a Tribal Partnership Specialist for the U.S. Census Bureau in Nevada.

Rural Nevada Substack

During the 2020 Census, he worked with all the Nevada tribal governments and tribal non-profits to encourage participation and prepare tribal partners for the dissemination of Census data. He also was asked to work with non-tribal governments in the six-county northeastern Nevada region to encourage Census self-responses and research Census questions from local partners.

Scott founded Gavorsky Consulting in 2021 to continue working with Rural Nevada communities.
